KL takes two out of four titles

2nd May, K.Lumpur: Kuala Lumpur youths took two out of the four titles at stake in the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit fourth leg with Selangor and Kelantan winning the other two on Sunday.
Timmy Tan Chye Chern of KL clinched his maiden title after he narrowly defeated top seed Muhammad Amin Razak, 189-183 and 212-193 in the Boy's Open title match. The No. 5 seed had earlier eliminated No. 2 seed, Raza Hazriq of KL, 203-183 and 192-118 to reach the finals.

Timmy sailed through the first knockout quarter-finals with easy victories over No. 3 seed, Muhammad Ikmal of KL and No. 7 seed, Syed Mohd Hafiz to advance into the semi-finals.

Muhammed Amin edged No. 8 seed and winner of the other quarter-final match, Muhd Aizudeen Mustaqim of Selangor, 190-226 and 233-206 to book his place in the finals but lost to Timmy Tan to settle for first runnerup.
Final match, Muhammad Amin had topped the qualifying rounds with a total of 2983 over the 8-games Stage 1 and 6 games Stage 2 to lead Raza Hazriq in second with 2925 and Muhammad Ikmal B Ismail in third with 2908.

Norsyamimi Syarfa gave Kuala Lumpur their second title when the No. 2 seed trashed top seed, Iver Tan of Penang, 233-140 and 211-168 in the Girl's Graded title match. The champion beat Nur Najwa Syuhada of Kelantan, 183-160 in the first semi-finals.

Iver Tan edged No. 6 seed and winner of the second quarter-final match, Noor Syarifah of SSBP, 170-168 to reach the finals before going down to Norsyamimi in the finals.
